Tom Welling Bio: After seeing a woman being mugged, Welling ran over and fought off her attackers. The woman looked at him and said “Wow, you really are Superman” after which he laughed. Unfortunately, this Superman is hooked up. He has been married to his wife, Jamie White, since July, 2002.
Welling’s breakout role was as Clark Kent in the series Smallville (2001). He was named one of People magazine’s “Breakthrough Stars of 2001” and also won the Teen Choice Award as “Choice Breakout Star (Male)” in 2002 for his role as Clark Kent. In December 2003, Welling played Charlie Baker in the film Cheaper by the Dozen. Welling appeared in two films in 2005, playing Nick Castle in The Fog, and Charlie Baker in Cheaper by the Dozen 2. He made his directorial debut in 2006, with the season five episode of Smallville, “Fragile.” He directed a second episode during season six, “Hydro,” and directed the show’s 150th episode, “Apocalypse.” Welling also played Bizarro and a young Jor-El on Smallville. It was announced that Welling is working on Bond 23 which is to be released some time in 2011.
