Although Harris guested on several television programs, his major break came in 1989, at age 16, when he won the role of “Doogie Howser” on Doogie Howsaer, M. D. until the series ended in 1993. When the series ended, Harris switched to stage acting. Between the years of 1993 and 2005, he split his time between theater, film and guest appearances on many television series.
Harris returned to television in the series How I Met Your Mother cast in the role of “Barney Stinson”. In 2005 TV Guide Magazine named him the Best Return to Television and the same year was voted People Magazine’s Sexiest Comeback. Harris was nominated for the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2008 for his role in How I Met Your Mother.

Aidan Quinn’s first significant film role was in Reckless, following his breakthrough role in Desperately Seeking Susan as the character Dez. His first starring role was in the controversial TV movie An Early Frost, about a young lawyer dying of AIDS. He received an Emmy Award nomination for his role in this movie. Quinn worked on films such as Legends of the Fall, Benny & Joon, The Handmaid’s, and Haunted. In 2000, Quinn portrayed Paul McCartney in the VH1 television drama, Two of Us. In 2007, he received his second Emmy nomination for the television movie Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. He is in the upcoming film The Eclipse.

During his early acting career, Henry Cavill was involved with European dramatic plays. His first film appearance was in an adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo. In 2005 he took on a completely different role as “Mike” in the dark horror movie Hellraiser: Hellworld. Beginning in 2007 Cavill starred as “Charles Brandon” in the Showtime series The Tudors. Heath Ledger began his acting career in film and television in Australia in 1992. His first US role was as “Conor” in the short-lived 1997 TV series called Roar. In 2000 he starred as “Gabriel Martin”, opposite Mel Gibson, in The Patriot, and in 2005, Ledger had his most notable role to that time in the highly acclaimed, yet controversial film, Brokeback Mountain.
He appeared in three more films before starring role as “The Joker” in the film The Dark Knight, the last film he completed before his untimely death in January, 2008. He received the Oscar award for his portrayal of the “Joker”, posthumously. He is one of only two actors to receive an Oscar posthumously, the other being actor Peter Finch for Best Actor in a Leading Role in the 1976 movie Network.
Ledger was working on a fantasy film entitled The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus. His death occurred about a third of the way through filming. His role was recast with Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrel portraying transformations is Ledger’s character as he travels through a dream world. The film is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2009.

Eric Balfour was character “Claire Fisher’s” love interest through most of the first season of hit HBO’s Six Feet Under. At age thirteen he appeared for one season of Kids Incorporated. The outrageous quotes, hilarious lifestyle, and mega-spending of the young couple made Newlyweds a phenomenon. The show lasted until March 2005. He also had a recurring role as the love interest and temporary replacement woman’s-advice-columnist playing Leslie St. Claire, Ph.D., for Alyssa Milano’s character Phoebe Halliwell in the 2004-2005 season of the series Charmed. Adrian Grenier made his film debut in the independent drama Arresting Gena. In 1999, he played opposite Melissa Joan Hart in Drive Me Crazy as well as in Britney Spears’ music video “You Drive Me Crazy”, and in 2001, starred in James Toback’s Harvard Man. In 2002, Grenier made his directorial debut with the documentary, Shot in the Dark.
In 2004, Grenier landed the lead role in the HBO series Entourage, which has brought him his most substantial notice and success. In 2006, he got a role in The Devil Wears Prada, playing Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend, Nate. In August 2007, Grenier was reported to be working on a new documentary which will chronicle the relationship between celebrities and the media.
On June 2, 2008, Grenier’s new show, Alter Eco, premiered on Planet Green, featuring the actor and his team of green experts showing changes that can be made to become more eco-friendly.
