Birth date/place: September 8, 1975 in Chicago, IL
Early in his acting career, Shirtless Larenz Tate appeared in TV series episodes of The Twilight Zone, 21 Jump Street, and The Wonder Years. He landed a role in the TV movies The Women of Brewster Place in 1989 and went on to playing a recurring role in the comedy series Family Matters. He had the starring role in the films Menace II Society and Dead Presidents. In 1997 Tate played opposite Kevin Costner and Will Patton in The Postman. He currently plays Black Shawn in the TV comedy/drama Rescue Me.
