Jeff Bridges and his older brother, Beau , appeared occasionally with their famous father Lloyd Bridges in the 1958 TV series Sea Hunt. Bridges made appearances in more than 75 television series and movies since 1951. Some of his best known roles were as ”Duane Jackson” in The Last Picture Show, “Starman” in the movie by the same name, “Jeffrey Lebowski” in The Big Lebowski, “Jack Lucas” in The Fisher King, and “Jack Baker” in The Fabulous Baker Boys. Bridges will co-star with George Clooney, as “Bill Django” in the comedy film The Men Who Stare at Goats to be released in November, 2009, and as “Bad Blake” in Crazy Heart coming out in 2010.
Best known for his movie roles, Bridges has been nominated for four Oscar awards. The first was in 1972 as Best Supporting Actor in The Last Picture Show; 1975 Best Supporting Actor in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot; 1985 for Best Actor in Starman; and in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor in The Contender.
