Bio: Affleck is quoted as saying, “God help me if I ever do another movie with an explosion in it. If you see me in a movie where stuff is exploding you’ll know I’ve lost all my money”.
Affleck began his career in 1984 as a child actor in The Voyage of Mimi, a PBS children’s series. In 1980 Affleck, aged eight, met, and became friends with, 10 year old Matt Damon. Sixteen years later, Affleck and Damon co-wrote the highly acclaimed Good Will Hunting which won them an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1997. Later movies include Shakespeare in Love, Reindeer Games, Pearl Harbor, and The Sum of All Fears. The 2003 release of the film Gigli was a real box office disaster and was considered to be one of the worst movies ever made. His career picked up with his role as George Reeves in the biopic-docudrama Hollywoodland. He stars as a congressman in State of Play to be released in April, 2009, and the upcoming comedy, Extract, coming in September of 2009.
